Did you know that 74% of Americans think the journey is more important than the destination when it comes to road trips? They’re right, considering what you have (or don’t have!!) can either make or break your trip!

Even if you enjoy driving for hours, there comes a time when anyone would feel bored. So how can make sure it’s the best it can be?

Read on for some of the best road trip tips to make your time as fun as possible!

Pack Good Car Accessories

Think about all the things you’d like to do, both as a driver and passenger. Some good car accessories to start with include:

  • Earphones/earbuds
  • Sleeping mask
  • Phone charger (either the USB or a portable charger)
  • Blanket

Create a Nice Playlist

Good music can really set the mood on a road trip. Before you set off, download all your favorite tunes so you and your loved ones can belt out the lines together!

When your songs are rumbling on a nice sound system like the American Bass VFL, it’s impossible to have a bad time.

Bring Road Trip Games

Road trip games can be a godsend, especially if you’re going far and you’ve got kids in the car. There are portable board games made especially for cars, so you can rest easy knowing no pieces will go flying out should you hit the brakes.

You can also look up some games to play that don’t require any equipment. For example, learn the rules of “I Spy”, then play it with your family whenever you go through some interesting roads.

For “me” time, you can pack books, puzzle books (like sudoku), or a handheld electronic system like the Switch.

Pack Plenty of Snacks

There’s nothing worse than going “hangry”. This is easily remedied by packing lots of your favorite snacks.

That way, when you’re hungry, just reach into the snack bag and pick something. This will save you money too!

Make Lots of Stops

As we’ve said above, it’s the journey that matters most, not the destination. If you’re in a hurry to get to the final destination, then you might as well fly!

Plan out your pit stops by noting interesting points of interest. Even if you’re stopping at the gas station, allow everyone ample time to use the bathroom and stretch their legs. It’ll make a world of difference in their attitudes once they get back in the car!
